Pets I have had (and still do)

First pet I remember having was a dog called Pippy, Yorkshire terrier, called Pippy because I couldn't say puppy when we first got him
I have had a lot of fish, I'm not going to name them all, but there were goldfish, koi (in a pond), neon, harlequin and cardinal tetra, Siamese fighting fish, barbs, white cloud mountain minnows among others.
At some point during my secondary school life I had stick insects
While I was at university, I got 2 white rats, they were my boys and I called them Pinky and the Brain, they were awesome fun and very good as pets. I would recommend rats to anyone as a pet, they are clean, they do smell a little, but they are great fun and mine had very cool personalities. Unfortunately I had to have one put down as he kept getting abscesses and it wasn't fair on him, that was emotional, the other died of old age about a year later.
I had a pair of female rats as well, once the male ones had died, they were ok, not as good as the boys had been, they were a bit less friendly, but still pretty cool. Both the girls died from natural causes within a month of each other.
We had a second dog, called Woody, he was a Dandie Dinmont terrier, he was pretty cool, but not as good as Pippy. Woody went with my dad when he left, it wouldn't have been fair for him to stay with me and my mum because he had bonded with my dad so strongly.
I got a pair of male bearded dragons, called Jay and Silent Bob, they were pretty awesome, great fun to watch at feeding time too, but I moved away and had to give them away to an old work colleague.
I had a hamster, his name was Sheldon, he was a cool as the first pair of rats, but a little less robust as they were. He had dark and like markings and had a fun little personality. I shed a tear when he died.
While I had Sheldon, I also adopted a tortoise, her name is Penny, I've had her for about 5 years now. She came to me via a friend of a friend who had bought "him" for his son. Penny has got to be the best pet I have, when I got her, she was quite weak and hardly ate anything that she should have been eating. She was so weak that she would push herself along the floor rather than walk on her legs properly. This has given her some lasting damage, but she is doing so well, she now walks like she is supposed to and speeds around the garden and living room. She eats most days, but she does still have a bit of a sulk if she doesn't get her favourite foods.
I've also got a pet snake, he's ok, great to look at and watch, but he's not very friendly and doesn't really like being handled or bothered
